Michael Hollerich is a managing director in BRG’s Financial Institution Advisory practice based in Dallas. He is a seasoned executive with over thirty years of domestic and international experience in financial services and consulting. He brings a wealth of expertise in areas such as regulatory affairs, corporate governance, anti-money laundering, fraud detection, mergers and acquisitions, and banking-as-a-service (BaaS). He has a strong understanding of small, medium, and large institutions across various markets and throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Before joining BRG, Mr. Hollerich operated a private consulting firm, Hollerich Consulting, LLC, which he founded in 2018. He has worked in advisory and executive roles with large international banking organizations and small- to mid-sized regional banks, non-depositories, and fintechs. He served as chief compliance officer for two publicly traded financial services firms (one a top ten US mortgage servicer) with locations across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and the US Virgin Islands. Throughout his career, Mr. Hollerich has spearheaded initiatives that have resolved some of the largest regulatory actions taken against the financial services industry, resulting in the avoidance of potential billion-dollar fines while implementing effective remediation and oversight programs. He has also played leadership roles in large-scale M&A and was instrumental to the merger of two large, non-depository mortgage servicers, establishing regulatory relationships and corporate governance strategies that facilitated transaction approvals from over thirty state and federal banking commissioners.

Robert (Bob) Broeksmit is President and CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). Bob is a senior finance executive and corporate officer with a 35-year career in the mortgage sector. He has directed all aspects of lending activities, including marketing, sales, operations, secondary marketing, loan servicing, and default management. He has also served as a mortgage underwriting expert testifying on many large, high-profile cases. Prior to joining MBA in 2018, Bob served as President and Chief Operating Officer with Treliant, heading the firm’s mortgage litigation support practice and serving diverse financial services clientele including large banks, independent mortgage lenders, community banks, credit unions, and service providers to the mortgage industry. As a Washington-based financial services consultancy, Treliant’s mortgage practice included strategic advisory for executive management and corporate boards; litigation defense, including file reviews, litigation strategy, expert reports, and expert testimony; CFPB examination preparation and implementation of mortgage regulations promulgated by the CFPB and other regulators; and operational aspects of mortgage banking, ranging from origination to servicing and loss mitigation. Before Treliant, Bob held senior leadership positions in the mortgage business, including fourteen years with Chevy Chase Bank (including after its purchase by Capital One), where he was Executive Vice President and President of its B.F. Saul Mortgage Company subsidiary. Bob also was a Vice President at Prudential Home Mortgage for seven years. He has overseen annual originations of $9 billion, a balance sheet of $10 billion in residential mortgages, and a servicing portfolio of $20 billion. He also held positions at Great Western Mortgage, Krupp Residential Mortgage, and The Money Store. Bob has served as the Chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Residential Board of Governors and as a member of its Board of Directors. Firms under his leadership have garnered multiple awards for servicing operations excellence, including Freddie Mac’s Tier One and Hall of Fame designations. He is a Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) and a graduate of Yale University.

Dr. Mark A. Calabria is the Associate Director for Treasury, Housing, and Commerce. He formerly served as Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) where he led the agency’s response to COVID and laid the groundwork for a removal of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from government conservatorship. As Director, Calabria also revitalized FHFA as a prudential regulator, establishing the agency’s new Research, Accounting Policy, and Resolution Divisions. Prior to leading FHFA in the first Trump Administration, he served at the White House as Chief Economist to the Vice President. In addition, Calabria previously worked as a senior aide to the United States Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs and served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Regulatory Affairs in the Office of Housing at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he supervised HUD’s regulation of the mortgage and real estate market. He was most recently a Senior Advisor to the Cato Institute.
