Fran Mordi joined the Mortgage Bankers Association in May of 2017 after 20 years of post-Law school experience in the areas of tax and accounting. Prior to joining MBA, Fran worked at the American Bankers Association and Deloitte Tax, LLP on domestic and international tax issues impacting the financial services industry. Fran has specific expertise in putting together training sessions and presenting at bank tax conferences and panels. Fran has extensive experience working with the banking regulators, FASB, the Treasury and Congress as an advocate of the financial services industry. Fran holds a J.D. from New England Law School, Boston, MA, and an LL.M in Taxation from Georgetown University Law School, Washington, DC.

Lawrence is an experienced trial attorney who represents corporate and individual clients in a range of government enforcement actions, internal investigations, and litigation. He has advised clients across major industry sectors, including health care, energy, financial services, and professional services, facing inquiries by the DOJ, SEC, and various state regulators. Lawrence is a sought-after trial attorney, with significant experience trying cases to verdict in federal and state courts. His experience serving in leadership roles in both federal law enforcement and in private practice is a benefit to clients who seek practical advice and efficient resolutions. Lawrence most recently served as acting U.S. attorney and first assistant U.S. attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, where he led an office of approximately 100 federal prosecutors and staff, overseeing nearly all federal criminal and civil cases involving the U.S. filed in the district. In these leadership roles, Lawrence oversaw a broad range of criminal and civil investigations and prosecutions involving securities fraud, financial reporting and other financial fraud, bribery, Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering violations, and False Claims Act matters. He also managed an active criminal and civil caseload, including matters involving public corruption, fraud, and violations of the False Claims Act related to health care and government contracting.
Stephanie Glad is a Postal Inspector with the United States Postal Inspection Service’s (USPIS). In April 2025, Inspector Glad was promoted to serve as the USPIS’ National Headquarters Mail Fraud Program Manager. Since joining USPIS in 2018, Ms. Glad has worked on investigations ranging from narcotics and firearms in the mail, Antimoney Laundering (AML) and financial crime investigations, mail fraud, revenue fraud and mail theft. Ms. Glad serves as an Election Crimes and Security SME for USPIS and has served as an AML specialist for the Chicago Division. Prior to joining USPIS, Ms. Glad was a Supervisory Intelligence Analyst with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, supervising Cyber and Counterintelligence matters. Ms. Glad also previously worked for the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington, D.C.
Stavros Nikolakakos is the Deputy Special Agent in Charge of the United States Secret Service’s Washington Field Office (WFO), the largest in the nation, where he overseas more than 300 dedicated professionals. Over his 20-year career, he has led and supervised complex criminal investigations in the New York Field Office, the Cyber Investigative Section at Headquarters, and the WFO. He has also served on the Counter Assault Team and the Presidential Protective Division. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles in numerous National Special Security Events (NSSE). Most recently, as the DSAIC of WFO, he oversaw the successful planning and execution of five NSSE within a six-month period to include the Presidential Inauguration and the Army 250th Birthday Parade, an unprecedented achievement in the history of the Secret Service.
Laura Walker is a Supervisory Special Agent at the FBI’s Washington Field Office. She oversees a squad of agents and professional staff who investigate bank fraud and money laundering matters and has over 19 years of investigative experience at the FBI. Prior to supervising a financial crimes squad, SSA Walker served as a supervisor and then Unit Chief in the FBI’s Health Care Fraud Unit. Before being promoted, SSA Walker investigated various types of health care fraud and drug diversion cases at the FBI’s Washington Field Office and public corruption and mortgage fraud cases in Northwest Indiana. SSA Walker is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Prior to joining the FBI, she worked in public accounting for two of the Big 6 firms and in the financial services industry.
