What You Missed – The CREF Life Company Council convened on Thursday, April 9th, to discuss the current state of the market and key headlines impacting the commercial real estate landscape.
Rental Housing Economist Jay Parson provided an overview of the rental market, highlighting the anticipated decline in apartment supply throughout 2026 and noting that while short-term headwinds exist, long-term demand drivers remain intact. Kathy Corton, Co-Head of CRE at Saluda Grade, examined how private credit intersects with the commercial real estate market and the broader attention the sector is receiving outside of commercial real estate. Jeremy Green and Jamie Woodwell of the MBA discussed how the current draft of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act could inadvertently impact multifamily housing.
