The Commercial Real Estate Life Company Council is an open forum for MBA members representing life insurance companies and professionals doing business with life companies in commercial and multifamily real estate finance. The council provides a platform for members to exchange insights, discuss market dynamics, and explore strategies that support the role of life companies as a critical source of long-term capital in the CRE market.

The council provides a collaborative platform to:

Discuss trends in life company lending and investment, including credit quality, pricing, and underwriting standards.

Explore market and policy developments affecting the life company investment landscape, including regulatory changes, risk-based capital considerations, and macroeconomic trends.
Foster dialogue among life company professionals, intermediaries, and MBA leadership to promote transparency, engagement, and best practices in commercial real estate finance.

Council Member Requirements and Description: This council is open to all MBA members who are life company professionals and those doing business with life companies, including correspondents, advisors, and service providers. Members participate to share insights, strengthen industry relationships, and contribute to MBA’s broader efforts to support life company investment in commercial and multifamily real estate.

Meeting Frequency: The council meets virtually every other month, providing regular opportunities for members to discuss market trends, share performance insights, and connect with peers across the life company investment community.
