Freddie Mac Manually Underwritten Loans presents underwriting requirements and risk evaluation principles for manually underwritten mortgages intended for sale to Freddie Mac. Participants examine Freddie Mac guidelines for loans that are never submitted to Loan Product Advisor (LPA), loans submitted to LPA that receive a Caution recommendation, and loans that receive an evaluation status of invalid, ineligible, or incomplete.

The course begins with an overview of Freddie Mac’s risk assessment philosophy and framework for manual underwriting. It then explores evaluation of the three Cs—credit, capacity, and collateral—followed by a review of layered risk analysis and considerations for transactions involving multiple borrowers. The course also addresses loan recommendations and documentation requirements specific to manually underwritten loans.

Through structured loan scenarios and case study exercises, participants strengthen their ability to apply Freddie Mac requirements in realistic underwriting situations. While the course focuses specifically on Freddie Mac’s manual underwriting process, the risk evaluation concepts presented reinforce sound manual underwriting practices more broadly.
