Underwriting Retail and Valuation introduces participants to the fundamental concepts of underwriting a retail property. The course covers the types of retail properties, the underwriting process, and the importance of market data. It concludes with a discussion of common retail lending risks and risk mitigants. Participants will have the opportunity to practice abstracting a retail lease, projecting income and expenses, calculating performance metrics, and determining value through yield capitalization using a sample case study.
