When a residential mortgage loan is granted, the property is pledged as security for the debt. This is done by publicly recording a lien on the property at the county recorder's office which a public record of the debt. When that lien is paid off, it must be released, proving the borrower is free of that debt.
Lien Release Concepts begins by examining the fundamentals and process of lien release. The course then looks at state guidelines regarding releasing liens as well as retrieving and preparing required documents. Finally, the course discusses the recording of the lien release with the county recorder's office.
