State and Local Associations

Strong state and local mortgage banking associations throughout the country are critical to the structure and well-being of the real estate finance industry. These groups are established and operated independently of MBA, but join MBA as adjunct organizations. MBA is committed to building mutually beneficial relationships between associations and members at all levels. Forty-four state and local associations, including groups representing the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, are aligned with MBA in this manner. MBA encourages all industry professionals and companies to become members of their local, state, and national associations.

At all levels, the industry is stronger when working together. MBA's annual State and Local Workshop in Washington, DC offers a proven opportunity for interaction between the leadership of these associations, where challenges and important goals are explored, and objectives and contributions are renewed. Additionally, MBA facilitates interaction by state and local associations in the Mortgage Action AllianceMORPAC, Mortgage Banking Bound, MBA Opens Doors Foundation, the MBA State Relations Initiative, and many other MBA-sponsored efforts. Moreover, MBA's national officers and staff contribute significant time and effort to maintain visibility at the state and local level, and frequently participate in events throughout the country.
