    The UDAP, UDAAP, and the MAP Rule Compliance Basics course begins with an overview of the rules. It continues with an explanation of unfair, deceptive, and abusive practices and the scope of the MAP Rule, along with its prohibited representations and record-keeping requirements. Additionally, this course covers how UDAP and UDAAP interplay with state and federal laws, and it provides guidance for staying compliant with the rules.

    Katherine L. Halliday is Counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of Buckley LLP, where she represents financial institutions, including bank and non-bank mortgage lenders, servicers, and insurers, in a wide range of litigation matters, including class actions, government enforcement matters, regulatory examinations, and internal investigations. Ms. Halliday has represented clients in matters involving the Department of Justice, the CFPB, the FTC, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Department of Veterans Affairs and state attorneys general and banking regulators, and in private civil litigation in numerous federal and state courts. She advises clients on a range of compliance matters, including FHA, VA, and GSE requirements, RESPA and Regulation X, the Military Lending Act, unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices (UDAP and UDAAP) statutes under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act, and various state laws.

    Colgate Selden is Managing Director & Head of Regulation and Compliance at Promontory MortgagePath. Colgate oversees all aspects of lending regulatory and legal matters for the PMP group of companies including those arising from software development, loan fulfillment and secondary mortgage market activities carried out through the PromonTech, Promontory Fulfillment services LLC and Promontory ResiMarkets subsidiaries. Prior to joining MortgagePath, he was a consumer finance regulatory partner in Alston & Bird LLP’s Financial Services and Products Practice Group and was a senior counsel in the CFPB’s Office of Regulations where he was a member of the LO Comp, ATR, TRID, HELOC and AMTPA rulemaking teams. Colgate additionally served as the CFPB lead for TILA mortgage regulatory inquiries from industry, Congress and consumer groups and was a senior advisor for RESPA section 8, Regulation P and FDCPA policy.  Prior to the CFPB, he was in a nationally recognized private practice where he advised banks, nondepositories and ancillary service providers on federal and state regulatory issues.

    Stephen A. Fogdall, Partner, Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP. Mr. Fogdall is Co-Chair of the Firm's Financial Services Litigation Practice Group. He has wide-ranging experience under TILA, FCRA, RESPA, FDCPA, and other consumer financial laws. He has an extensive commercial litigation practice, focusing on financial services litigation and class action defense. He also chairs the Firm's Pro Bono Committee.
